I am Paul Brothwood, a Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and sustainability professional with experience across operational leadership, environmental management, infrastructure and health and safety. My professional interests include ISO 14001, ISO 45001, operational improvement, governance and project delivery.

Over the years, I have worked in roles linked to sustainability, HSEQ, leadership and operational performance, with a particular interest in how organisations improve safety, environmental outcomes and culture.

Alongside my professional work, I have a long-standing passion for motorcycles and adventure travel. I ride a Suzuki Hayabusa and have travelled extensively across Europe and the USA by motorcycle, including routes such as the Alps and Tail of the Dragon. In 2026, I will take part in Honda Adventure Roads in the Pyrenees riding the Honda Transalp.

This blog will cover topics linked to sustainability, ISO management systems, leadership, operational improvement, project delivery, motorcycle touring and adventure travel.

Outside work, I've also written about my experience on Honda Adventure Roads 2026, including the leadership lessons from the event, learning from Kirian Mirabet, meeting Dakar rider Tosha Schareina and my transition from a Suzuki Hayabusa to the Honda Transalp.

Every journey has a moment that captures what it was really about. For me, this photograph is that moment. It was taken shortly after fellow rider and journalist Amelie Schneider suffered a broken foot. The ride paused, everyone stopped to help, and the focus shifted from motorcycles to people. It summed up the spirit of Honda Adventure Roads 2026 better than any finish line photograph ever could. Sometimes the most memorable moments aren't about the riding. Shortly after Amelie Schneider injured her foot, the group stopped to help before continuing through the Pyrenees. It captured the teamwork and support that defined Honda Adventure Roads 2026.
